Addressing tips for Spain
- Postcodes have five digits and are written to the left of the town name.[1]
- The street number follows the street name. Staircase, floor and door go after it, separated by commas: Plaza de las Descalzas 27, Esc 2, 3º, C.[1]
- The province is written on a line of its own, below the postcode and town, even when it is the same as the town (45012 TOLEDO, then TOLEDO).[1]
- A PO box (Apartado) takes the place of the street line: Apartado 324, then 33400 AVILÉS, then ASTURIAS.[1]

Questions about sending mail to Spain
- How long does mail to Spain take?
- We estimate 4–6 business days after mailing. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date, and the count starts on the day we mail your letter, not the day you order.
- Can I send a letter to Spain from another country?
- Yes. You order online from wherever you are, and we print and mail the letter for you, so you don't need stamps or a trip to the post office. Once your order is assigned, its page shows the country it was mailed from.
- Can I add a return receipt to a letter to Spain?
- Yes. Choose Registered letter and add the return receipt. The recipient signs on delivery and the signed receipt is posted back to the sender address on your letter. A sender address is required.
- Can I track a letter to Spain?
- Yes, with a tracked or registered letter. Tracking updates depend on the postal networks along the way, so they may not cover every step. Your order page shows the updates we receive.
- Do I need to write the province in a Spanish address?
- The Spanish format always shows it, on its own line below the postcode and town, as in 29400 MARBELLA followed by MÁLAGA. Picking the address from the suggestions fills it in.[1]
- Where do I write the staircase, floor and door?
- On the street line, after the street number and separated by commas, as in Calle Huertas 18, 4º, C.[1]
- Where do I write a building name in a Spanish address?
- UPU puts a building name on its own line above the street, but MaisonMail can't print that line yet. Use the second field only for staircase, floor and door: it is printed after the street, separated by a comma.
