Addressing tips for Austria
- Postcodes have four digits and are written to the left of the town name: 1220 WIEN.[1]
- The street line carries the street, house number, block and flat, separated by slashes: Rennbahnweg 25/2/15.[1]
- A PO box address uses Postfach and the box number in place of the street line: Postfach 100, then 1011 WIEN.[1]
- In rural deliveries the village name can stand in place of a street: Pulkau 18, then 3741 PULKAU.[1]
- When the delivery destination differs from the post office, the destination goes on the line immediately above the postcode line.[1]
- The specimens write the town in capitals.[1]

- Can I send a letter to Austria from another country?
- Yes. You order online from wherever you are, and we print and mail the letter for you, so you don't need stamps or a trip to the post office. Once your order is assigned, its page shows the country it was mailed from.
- Can I add a return receipt to a letter to Austria?
- Yes. Choose Registered letter and add the return receipt. The recipient signs on delivery and the signed receipt is posted back to the sender address on your letter. A sender address is required.
