Addressing tips for Belgium
- Postcodes have four digits, followed by a space and the town. Do not put B- or BE- in front of the postcode, and do not add a province or sub-community after the town.[1]
- Write the street name, a space and the number, with no punctuation and no "n°" or "nr". Two numbers are joined with a dash (4-8); an alphabetic bis number follows directly (21C) and a numeric one uses a slash (21/3).[1]
- A box number goes on the street line after bus (Dutch), bte (French) or box, as in Kortijkstraat 37 bus 1. Do not use b, #, - or / instead.[1]
- Building, wing, stairwell, floor and door details belong on a line above the street line: Gebouw A - Verdiep 3 - Kamer 8. MaisonMail's second field prints on that line.[1]
- An address has at most six lines (seven with the country) and at most 50 characters per line, spaces included.[1]
- A PO box address has no street or number: Postbus 24 (or Boite Postale 24), then the postcode and town. Write the number without spaces or dots: Postbus 12000.[1]
- Write the street name in the language of the town, or in one of its official languages if it has several, but never in two languages at once.[1]

Questions about sending mail to Belgium
- How long does mail to Belgium take?
- We estimate 2–4 business days after mailing. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date, and the count starts on the day we mail your letter, not the day you order.
- Can I send a letter to Belgium from another country?
- Yes. You order online from wherever you are, and we print and mail the letter for you, so you don't need stamps or a trip to the post office. Once your order is assigned, its page shows the country it was mailed from.
- Can I add a return receipt to a letter to Belgium?
- Yes. Choose Registered letter and add the return receipt. The recipient signs on delivery and the signed receipt is posted back to the sender address on your letter. A sender address is required.
- Can I track a letter to Belgium?
- Yes, with a tracked or registered letter. Tracking updates depend on the postal networks along the way, so they may not cover every step. Your order page shows the updates we receive.
- Do I write B- before a Belgian postcode?
- No. UPU says the postcode is four digits with no country initial or ISO code, and nothing after the town (no province or sub-community).[1]
- How do I write a box number in a Belgian address?
- On the street line, after the number, preceded by bus (Dutch), bte (French) or box: Rue du Vivier 7C bte 5. Do not use b, #, - or / as separators.[1]
- Where do I put the floor, stairwell or door?
- On a line above the street line, as in Gebouw A - Verdiep 3 - Kamer 8, not on the street line itself.[1]
- Can I send a letter with both a person and a company name to Belgium?
- Only partly for now. UPU puts the person and the organisation on separate lines, but MaisonMail has one recipient line. Enter the person's name and put the company in the second field only if it fits the line above the street.
