Addressing tips for Hong Kong
- Hong Kong addresses run from the smallest unit to the largest: addressee, flat and floor, building name, street number and name, then the village, town or district in capitals.[1]
- The UPU specimens contain no postcode: the last line is the district, for example WAN CHAI.[1]
- Write a flat and its floor on one line, separated by a comma: Flat 25, 12/F.[1]
- A PO box address gives the box number, then the name of the post office in capitals in place of the district: P.O. Box 42345, then CAUSEWAY BAY POST OFFICE.[1]
- The specimens write the family name of a person in capitals (CHAN Kwok-kwong).[1]

Questions about sending mail to Hong Kong
- How long does mail to Hong Kong take?
- We estimate 8โ15 business days after mailing. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date, and the count starts on the day we mail your letter, not the day you order.
- Can I send a letter to Hong Kong from another country?
- Yes. You order online from wherever you are, and we print and mail the letter for you, so you don't need stamps or a trip to the post office. Once your order is assigned, its page shows the country it was mailed from.
- Can I add a return receipt to a letter to Hong Kong?
- Yes. Choose Registered letter and add the return receipt. The recipient signs on delivery and the signed receipt is posted back to the sender address on your letter. A sender address is required.
- Can I track a letter to Hong Kong?
- Yes, with a tracked or registered letter. Tracking updates depend on the postal networks along the way, so they may not cover every step. Your order page shows the updates we receive.
- Does Hong Kong use postcodes?
- Our address form doesn't ask for a postcode for Hong Kong. Enter the street and town as the recipient gives them.
- What does the last line of a Hong Kong address contain?
- The village, town or district, such as WAN CHAI. UPU's Hong Kong specimens contain no postcode.[1]
- In what order do I write a Hong Kong address?
- From the smallest unit to the largest: flat and floor, building name, street number and name, then the district.[1]
- Can I put the flat and the building name on separate lines?
- Not for now. UPU's specimen uses two lines (Flat 25, 12/F and Acacia Building), but MaisonMail has one field for them. Type both into it, separated by a comma, and it prints above the street line.
