Addressing tips for Chile
- A Chilean postcode has seven digits and is written to the left of the commune name.[1]
- Building, floor, village and apartment details belong to the right side of the street name and number; MaisonMail joins the second address line to the street line with a comma.[1]
- The region line follows the postcode plus commune line, for example REGION METROPOLITANA.[1]
- P.O. Box addresses use the postcode of the Correos Chile office or agency.[1]
- Most rural examples in the UPU sheet do not have street numbers; they use the company or route description plus the commune postcode.[1]

Questions about sending mail to Chile
- How long does mail to Chile take?
- We estimate 10–18 business days after mailing. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date, and the count starts on the day we mail your letter, not the day you order.
- Can I send a letter to Chile from another country?
- Yes. You order online from wherever you are, and we print and mail the letter for you, so you don't need stamps or a trip to the post office. Once your order is assigned, its page shows the country it was mailed from.
- Can I add a return receipt to a letter to Chile?
- Yes. Choose Registered letter and add the return receipt. The recipient signs on delivery and the signed receipt is posted back to the sender address on your letter. A sender address is required.
- Can I track a letter to Chile?
- Yes, with a tracked or registered letter. Tracking updates depend on the postal networks along the way, so they may not cover every step. Your order page shows the updates we receive.
- Do I need to enter a state or province for Chile?
- Yes, the address form asks for it and we print it as part of the address. Pick the address from the suggestions to fill it in automatically.
- Where does the Chile postcode go?
- Before the commune name, for example 9180794 ESTACION CENTRAL.[1]
- Where do I put apartment or floor details?
- Put them in the second address line. MaisonMail prints them after the street and number, separated by a comma.
- Do I need the Chile region line?
- Yes. Put the region in the province/region field so it prints below the postcode and commune line.[1]
