Addressing tips for Australia
- Australian postcodes have four digits and are written to the right of the state or territory abbreviation.[1]
- The last domestic line is locality, state abbreviation and postcode, for example KALGOORLIE WA 6430.[1]
- Australia Post recommends the last two lines in uppercase.[1]
- State and territory abbreviations include ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC and WA.[1]
- Floor or door identifiers can be on the street line before the house number; other extra address elements can be placed on a separate line above the street.[1]

Questions about sending mail to Australia
- How long does mail to Australia take?
- We estimate 10–18 business days after mailing. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date, and the count starts on the day we mail your letter, not the day you order.
- Can I send a letter to Australia from another country?
- Yes. You order online from wherever you are, and we print and mail the letter for you, so you don't need stamps or a trip to the post office. Once your order is assigned, its page shows the country it was mailed from.
- Can I send a registered letter to Australia?
- Not at the moment: registered letters aren't available for Australia. A tracked letter gives you a tracking number.
- Can I track a letter to Australia?
- Yes, with a tracked or registered letter. Tracking updates depend on the postal networks along the way, so they may not cover every step. Your order page shows the updates we receive.
- Do I need to enter a state or province for Australia?
- Yes, the address form asks for it and we print it as part of the address. Pick the address from the suggestions to fill it in automatically.
- How do I write the last line of an Australian address?
- Locality, state or territory abbreviation and postcode on one line: KALGOORLIE WA 6430.[1]
- Where does an Australian unit or level go?
- If it is part of the street delivery point, put it in the second address line and MaisonMail prints it above the street line.
- Can I send to an Australian PO Box or locked bag?
- Yes. Put PO BOX, LOCKED BAG, RMB or similar delivery line in the street field, then the locality, state and postcode line.[1]
